The Eight Plank Approach to Search Engine Optimization

The following Eight strategies result in long term search engine visibility and success. They are proven and practiced amongst many different markets and show excellent results. For any new SEO project we take on, we structure our proposal and work based on these following factors:

  • Inbound, one way “unpaid” link building from reputable sites utilizing your target keyphrases.
  • Inbound, one way “paid” link building from top sites utilizing your target keyphrases.
  • “On Page” optimization, including all elements of a page that matter from a search engine perspective – Page Title, Meta Description, H1, and all anchor link text.
  • Web Metric Analysis with Google Analytics to decide on creation of new “landing pages” on your main site – these pages will target very specific keyphrases, and we would target having Google index certain keyphrases¬† that generate long tail search traffic.
  • Research on, and expansion of, your keyphrase list, focused on identifying high value keyphrases that produce traffic but may be less competitive.
  • Publishing of articles that you write as a subject matter expert to your own blog (separate from the main site, but linked to the main site) to reputable blogs, reputable article directories etc.
  • Use of various social media (Twitter, Facebook) outlets – again, using the article content you publish to spread that around to “followers” on Twitter, and “fans” on Facebook.
  • Build an email list based upon your “followers” and “fans” through topic based sign-up pages on your website.¬† Hit your email list once a month with – an engaged audience is a buying audience, and a repeat buying audience.¬† Facebook and Twitter provide you with the conduit to build that engaged audience.
